The Best Beaches for Kids in Brisbane (and surrounds)

As voted by you…

1. Suttons Beach Redcliffe

Features parks, a WOW playground and BBQ facilities. There is also a great fish n chip shop just up the road

2. Lower Moora Park Shorncliffe

Gorgeous playground, by the beach, with a stroll up the pier on offer. picnic and bbq facilites in the shade of cotton trees and unplugged smooth tunes in Cafe On The Park every Sunday afternoon, just up the cliff. but sshhhh, don’t tell everyone!!

3. Pelican beach at Labrador Gold Coast

Great little no wave beach for the kids & a great park. Oh you can also feed the pelican’s when they come in. Lots of picnic tables& BBQs and a great fish & chips shop too.

4. Paradise Point.

You can go there with nothing and have the best day. Plenty of park equipment, fenced off water area, paths for riding, walking, heaps of open space to kick a ball. Over the road is takeaway shops, fantastic coffee, chemists and everything you could need

5. Bribie Island

This would HAVE to make the top 10! Surf side or calm side there is something for everyone. On a Sunday head to the Caboolture Markets and then a short 30 min drive to Bribie.. perfect day

6. Wellington Point

Jjust fabulous when the tide is low and u can walk across to the island. Plus check out the crabs, collect shells etc… And the playground is brilliant too.

7. Cabbage Tree Point Beach

quiet, fish and chips, enclosed toddler swim area and a little park across the road. Nothing flashy – just good old QLD basic

8. Coochiemudlo Island

It’s a little island 400 m off the waterfront at Victoria Point – the ferry is about 10mins… it’s worth having a look one weekend. The ferry’s only a few dollars. There’s a beach but it’s very gentle surf (good for kids). It’s kind of like your typical cartoon desert island? Ie basically a big hill with palms and ringed with sand?

9. Tallebudgerra Beach

Has a surf beach plus a lovely little beach right at the entry with bbqs and bathrooms very handy, lots of fun for little ones worth the drive.

10. Redcliffe Lagoon

Not strictly a beach but it is a lagoon that features a sandy type beach. Similar setup to South Bank and with similar crowds on busy spring and summer days.
