Plenty of food options and a fully supervised, enclosed Kids Club room for children to use for FREE.
What’s On The Menu?
For the Parents
The club offers lunch, dinner and snack menus that cover a range of light and main meals with most of the usual favourites to be found. There are some great specials and member deals that they constantly offer up so be sure to check out the dining page on their website before you head there and make the most of your experience there.
For the Kids
The High Steaks restaurant offers a kids menu that offers a generous selection to choose from with all meals sitting at $8.90 including a soft drink and either ice-cream or jelly for dessert. Along with pop top juices, milkshakes, water and bottle juices as alternative drink options they also have a mocktail menu if the kids are looking for something fancy.
Note: On Wednesday nights the club offers “Kids Eat Free” with the purchase of every full priced adult meal.
Allergy Free Options
The club has both vegetarian and gluten free options available on the menu and are also happy to create something if requested.
Kids Play Options
The restaurant boasts its own fully supervised, enclosed kids space known as the Little Possums Kids Club. Created for children aged 3 – 12 years old this well equipped and entertaining area is free for patrons to use and is visible from the dining area. Children under 3 are of course allowed in as well but they must be supervised by their parents the entire time.
Inside, kids are able to partake in a range of activities such as painting, arts, crafts, chalkboard art and colouring in, and staff are even known to do face painting from time to time throughout the week. For the smallest kids (aged 3 – 8 years) there is a great little play gym with obstacles to explore and for the older kids they have playstations, a range of board games like Monopoly and a TV to watch either ABC channels or a movie.
Parents are invited to drop children off to play and be supervised while they relax and enjoy a meal (a 2 hour limit of supervision is provided). The Kids Club is supervised by staff at specified times during the day, which we have listed below.
For parents who wish to keep their children in the cafe, the club offers activity packs for $2.00 which contain a range of engaging and challenging activities and some crayons.
Other Child-Friendly Services Provided
High chairs, baby change facilities and ample room for pram parking are all available at the Capalaba Sports Club.
On the last Wednesday of every month there is a roving magician and from time to time they will also put on a kids show such as a dance, puppet, magic show etc.
For those who love some barefoot bowls (and who doesn’t really?) the club has three well maintained greens ready to play on – it is a bowls club after all! Costing $9 per person they can be lit up and an undercover BBQ area is located just off one of the greens for your convenience. This is a bit of fun the entire family can enjoy too. Children aged 5 years and over are welcome to bowl and they even provide lighter bowls to accommodate them.
