Young Adult Mental Health Webinar – Emerging Minds Matter
An initiative of the Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane, former Australian world champion boxer and anti-bullying advocate Jeff Horn will share his experiences of being bullied as a teenager as well as coping strategies.
Mr Horn, a BullyProof Australia ambassador, will be joined by Mater Emotional Health Unit Professor Simon Denny and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Anya Snyder.
Mr Horn will discuss his story and mental health strategies at an online forum for young people, parents, teachers and counsellors.
The webinar on 30 October is being hosted by the Mater Young Adult Health Centre and Mater Education and will showcase the potentially lifesaving services available to young people aged 16 to 25.
The webinar will include a Q&A session.
Topics will cover:
- The effects of bullying
- Signs of emotional distress in young adults
- Techniques to support young adults with their recovery.
