SUMMARY:Art Kids: Pick Me - Kids Art Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Art Kids is a new exhibition-led series of children’s workshops at Pine Rivers Art Gallery! \nArt Kids can expect to learn new skills\, connect with their peers\, explore different ways of art-making\, and most importantly\, have fun! \nEach session starts with a captivating exploration of artworks\, sparking discussions and igniting curiosity around specific pieces. \nArt Kids: Pick me will explore process art\, mindfulness\, and creative ways to respond to Claire Ritchie’s solo exhibition\, Pick me. \nEach session can be attended individually. However\, each session will build upon the previous one to create opportunities to engage with art-making materials or mediums across several weeks. \n24 August: Do it yourself Batik blooms 10.30am – 12pm \nThis session will invite young artists to experiment with different forms of batik\, including glue and wax methods. Through a process-led approach\, attendees will create a variety of floral-inspired designs to adapt as part of this ongoing series or to take home with you ready to display. \n7 September: Silhouette spray art 10.30am – 12pm \nPlay with negative space\, shadow and silhouette in this textile painting workshop. Young artists will use spray bottles\, diluted paint pigment and a variety of their favorite materials to create a negative space composition on fabric\, felt\, or both! Finished textile works can be used in the third session as the foundation of the bunting\, flag\, or pennant. \n14 September: Pick me pennants 10.30am – 12pm \nClaire’s promise to herself in 2024 was to be her own best mate. Make a promise to yourself and commit to it by stitching or sticking your new philosophy onto a felt pennant. Attendees will be guided through designing\, cutting\, and attaching shapes\, motifs\, letters and other design elements onto their customized felt pennant. \nAttendees of previous sessions are encouraged to bring along the products of past sessions to adapt or expand upon in this third and final Art Kids: Pick me program. Bookings required. \nEvent details\nWhen: 10.30am – 12pm. Saturday 24th August\, Saturday 7 September & Saturday 14 September \nWhere: Pine Rivers Art Gallery  \nCost: $5 per session or all 3 sessions for $12 \nMore information
