SUMMARY:ANZAC Day Parade 2026
DESCRIPTION:ANZAC Day Parade\nHead to the CBD for the annual ANZAC Day parade. The first ANZAC Day Parade took place in Brisbane on the 25th April 1916. This continued tradition is organised by the citizens to recognise the sacrifice of both retired and serving veterans of the Australian Defence Force and many Allied countries. \nThe parade will be held on Adelaide Street\, between George Street and Creek Street\, from 9:45am to 12:30pm and will feature former and current ADF veterans and other groups that contribute to the Parade that make it the commemoration worthy of its heritage. \nAnyone wishing to volunteer to deliver the Parade or otherwise assist in the ongoing event organisation can submit an expression of interest. 2026 Applications closed on 31st March 2026\, but you can now apply to volunteer for the 2026 and 2027 Parades. \nThe recommendation is to use public transport where possible to access the Parade area. The main form up area for veterans is a reasonable walk across the Victoria Bridge to Queens Park. Also from King George Square/Queen St busway levels to Adelaide Street for spectators as well as Central Station. Many of the CBD car parks are closed\, however the King George Square car park remains accessible from Roma Street and is located close to Adelaide Street. Visitors can explore interactive reptile and pet exhibits\, enjoy engaging wildlife talks\, and experience hands-on encounters including popular puppy cuddle sessions\, alongside appearances from cats and dogs. \nA highlight of the weekend is the lineup of special guests and live demonstrations\, featuring Danny Brown\, also known as Gecko Dan\, hosting a book launch and signing\, as well as Scott Carson from Carso’s Critters delivering thrilling venomous snake shows. Reptile catchers\, handlers and rehabilitation groups will also be on hand\, offering insight into their important work and sharing expert knowledge with attendees. \nWith an eclectic mix of vendors offering reptiles\, exotic pets\, wildlife education\, art and specialty products\, the event is perfect for enthusiasts looking to expand their collection or for newcomers curious about reptile ownership. Those planning to purchase a reptile are reminded to have a current Queensland Recreational Wildlife Permit ready\, either printed or saved on their mobile device. \nDesigned as a fun\, family-friendly event\, the festival invites the community to meet the animals\, learn from experts and enjoy a full weekend immersed in the fascinating world of reptiles and wildlife. \nThe Event is proud to support the ‘Companion Card” program. The Companion Card promotes the right of people with a disability\, who require a companion\, to fair ticketing at events and venues in Australia. People with a disability who require a companion to access the event with them must produce their ‘Companion Card’ at time of entry.
