From dusk\, the sky and river come alive with Australian Defence Force flypasts and a spectacular fireworks display from Foti Fireworks\, lighting up the skyline from the Story Bridge to South Bank. It’s completely free to watch from riverside spots\, parks\, and rooftops right across the city\, with live entertainment from around 4pm ahead of the fireworks. \nRunning every night of the festival\, 4–26 September\, is Bright Nights by ANZ – a free\, 15-minute water\, light and sound spectacular staged on the Brisbane River at Festival Village\, South Bank. Floating fountains\, waterscreens and water jets shooting up to 80 metres high are lit by a dazzling laser show\, set to an exclusive soundtrack from The Veronicas. DESCRIPTION:The Woodford Railway Heritage Train Rides\nSit in open air carriages and let the wind blow through your hair as you ride on a heritage train at the Woodford Railway. Friendly volunteers will greet you on the platform and help you board the train as well as share their are full of local knowledge and their passion for their beloved railway with you.  \nThe 15 minute journey allows you to sit back and breathe in the fresh country air and watch the horses in the paddocks as you drive by (alongside around 300 metres of housing development) \nThere is a small display room on the platform which you can wander around and learn more about the historical trains and carriages. There are also other long-standing carriages and tracks dotted around the grounds which are a reminder of a bygone era. \nTickets for the round-trip train ride can be purchased from the Ticket Office\, situated in the middle of the platform. Cold drinks and a variety of train books and memorabilia are available for purchase from the office. \n\nThe Woodford Railway Heritage Train Rides\nWhen: The Woodford Railway runs Heritage Train rides on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month. Rides starting at 10am and running until 3pm (generally stopping between 12:45 – 1.30pm for lunch). Landing on Father’s Day\, the afternoon brings live 70s and 80s favourites\, a classic car Show ‘n’ Shine\, free popcorn\, family entertainment\, and a pop-up bar by the beach\, with performances from Classic Vinyl Reloaded and the Abba Girls Tribute Show. \nSunday 13 September moves to Roughton Park\, Kirra\, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm\, for a Yacht Rock Sunset Session. Visitors can settle in for a relaxed Sunday afternoon of smooth classics and easy-going party vibes\, with live music\, picnic blankets\, a beautiful Kirra sunset\, and food specials from local Kirra businesses. \nSunday 20 September rounds out the series back at Roughton Park\, Kirra\, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm\, with a Country Rock Sundown.
