The program spans every era of Brisbane’s built history\, from the convict-built Spring Hill Windmill Tower (the oldest surviving building in Queensland) to the new towers rewriting the city skyline. \nHighlights this year include: \nNew buildings and spaces opening for the first time\, including three new CBD towers\, the Brisbane Portrait Gallery in Fish Lane\, and a number of private residential homes showcasing innovative subtropical design. Several architecture studios will also open their doors\, including Populous\, Bates Smart\, Architectus\, and BVN. \nA full calendar of lead-up events running through June and July\, including guided walks\, talks\, workshops\, and tours. From a live bronze pour at the UAP Foundry to a 30-metre descent into a Cross River Rail station under construction\, there is plenty to explore beyond the open buildings.
