DESCRIPTION:Pack your books\, load up your imagination and get ready for a literary adventure this summer! \nCity of Moreton Bay’s Summer Reading Club is back from 1 December to 31 January\, inviting residents of all ages to read anywhere\, anytime. \nWhether you’re reading at home\, by the pool\, at the beach\, or under a shady tree at your local park\, Summer Reading Club is your ticket to adventure. \nThis annual program is a celebration of imagination\, a chance to rediscover the joy of reading\, and a way to bring the community together through shared stories. With thousands of titles available across City of Moreton Bay libraries\, there’s something for every reader. \nFree to join\, participants log their reading hours in branch or online to go in the draw for weekly prizes such as book vouchers. Every three hours of reading counts and includes everything from novels and comics to audiobooks and magazines. Even reading this will count towards your hours.  \nParticipants can also support their local school by nominating them when signing up\, helping them compete for the coveted Summer Reading Club trophy. Last summer\, more than 8\,500 residents took part\, turning pages and sharing stories across the city. This year\, Council is aiming to make the program even bigger. \nReading happens everywhere\, not just in books! Take your Summer Reading Club postcard or bookmark along as you explore the region. Whether you’re checking out the new menu at your favourite cafe\, reading local stories online or notice a new billboard around town. \nEvery word you see adds to your adventure and your reading hours. DESCRIPTION:One Big Weekend – 1st Birthday of Nicholas Street Precinct\nNicholas Street Precinct is turning one\, and the celebrations are set to take over the entire precinct for One Big Weekend. The milestone also marks the first birthdays of HOYTS\, Hotel Commonwealth and General Public\, making it a triple celebration filled with free entertainment\, dining specials and festive vibes. \nAcross two days\, the precinct will come alive with live music\, family activities\, roving performers and special offers from restaurants and venues. \nFriday 7th November.  5pm to 9pm\nThe celebrations kick off with DJ tunes at the Cinema and Entertainment Venue\, plus roaming mascots\, jugglers\, LED hula hoopers\, bubble performers and stilt walkers adding colour and excitement throughout the precinct. \nSaturday 8th November\, 9am to 9pm\nThe weekend continues with handmade markets from 9am to 1pm.
