DESCRIPTION:Sea World Foundation Ocean Clean Up Community Event\nThe Sea World Foundation Ocean Clean Up Community Event invites volunteers to help protect local marine ecosystems through a large-scale clean-up both on land and underwater. Gold Coast ocean lovers are encouraged to get involved\, whether by diving beneath the surface to remove debris or by collecting litter along the shoreline. \nLand volunteers will be provided with debris bags\, tongs and gloves\, though participants are welcome to bring their own equipment. This role is suitable for all ages\, with volunteers under 18 requiring adult supervision. \nCertified divers can participate as dive volunteers\, using their own equipment to help collect underwater litter. Marine debris bags will be provided\, and dive volunteers will receive complimentary tank refills for the event\, courtesy of Adreno Gold Coast and Gold Coast Dive Centre. \nAfter the clean-up\, volunteers can enjoy a free barbecue\, live music\, eco-activities and prizes at this family-friendly celebration. DESCRIPTION:RAAF Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre Sunday Open Days\nShowcasing the incredible history of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)\, the Heritage Centre has displays that include Sabre and Mirage fighter jets\, a flawless WWII Jeep\, Sioux and Iroquois helicopters and a Caribou airlifter. The museum pays particular attention to the history of aviation at the RAAF Amberley base and the RAAF’s role in South East Queensland in war and peace time. \nThe ever-growing historical collection is housed in two aircraft hangars at the RAAF Amberley base and does change from time to time\, as exhibits are restored and brought in or returned after a loan period. \nA group of passionate reservists and volunteers are on hand to guide visitors through the RAAF Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre’s displays\, passing on fascinating stories and a priceless educational experience with every visit. Every single one of these enthusiasts is involved in the research\, restoration and display of the aircraft and the items that make up the collection. \nOne of the best things about the displays at the Heritage Centre is that you can touch almost everything. There’s even the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of an F-111. Photos are always welcome and highly encouraged within the display hangars\, so your Brisbane Kids can capture their aviation adventures when you visit. \nThe RAAF Amberley Heritage Centre is open 9am to 3pm\, Thursdays\, and the usually the third Sunday of every month (excluding December & January). \nEntry requirements:\nAmberley Heritage Centre is located on RAAF Base Amberley. On arrival at the front gate\, visitors will met by one of the Heritage Centre team members. \nVisitors must bring: \n\nCopy of Online Base Induction completion email\nReservation confirmation\nPhotographic identification as recorded on your reservation confirmation (Photos of identification documents are not accepted).\n\nPets\, alcohol and firearms are prohibited on base. DESCRIPTION:The Betty Diamond Bowlapalooza 2026\nA Youth Week Celebration \nYoung ones are invited to come together for a day of action\, music\, and community spirit as Betty Diamond Bowlapalooza returns to Tugun Skatepark. Held during Queensland Youth Week\, this free event will feature a skateboard competition alongside BMX demos\, scooter jams\, and live entertainment. Park DJs will provide the music while food trucks keep everyone catered for throughout the day. \nSpectators and participants can enjoy a scheduled program with cash prizes\, inflatable challenges\, and live music from local Gold Coast artists. Whether you are competing or watching from the sidelines\, the event is a great place for young people to celebrate friendship and youth culture. \nCOMPS \nThe 2026 Betty Diamond BOWLAPALOOZA will feature an Under 16 Bowl Comp (ages 12 to 16) and a 16 to 25 Bowl Comp. There is also a Rail Comp for BMX riders and skateboarders at Tugun with various awards available\, including cash prizes and the chance to be named the Diamond of Tugun Skatepark. Registration details will be announced soon. \nJAMS & DEMOS \nAs a free event\, BOWLAPALOOZA will include BMX jams with professional riders\, scooter demonstrations\, inflatable activities\, and more. Local food trucks will also be on-site to provide a variety of options. Everyone is welcome to come down and join the fun. \nPARK DJ & LIVE MUSIC \nFeaturing a live Park DJ and local young Gold Coast musicians\, the music will be playing throughout the day.
