DESCRIPTION:The Premier’s Reading Challenge 2026\nThe Premier’s Reading Challenge champions reading with the goal of encouraging young Queenslanders to read for pleasure and learning\, to improve literacy and give them a brighter future. \nIt is an annual statewide initiative for Queensland state and non-state schools and home-educated students from Prep to Year 9\, as well as children (aged up to 5 years) enrolled in an early childhood centre. \nGet involved\nKey dates\nRegistrations open: 27 April\nReading period commences for Prep to Year 9 students: 11 May\nEarly childhood participation period: 17 to 28 August\nReading period finishes for Prep to Year 9 students: 28 August\nCelebration Weeks: 2 to 13 November \nThe PRC is not a competition but a way to encourage students to develop a love of reading for life.
