DESCRIPTION:The Recreational Wildlife and Pet Fest 2026 is a family-friendly event at the Ipswich Showgrounds celebrating reptiles\, wildlife and exotic pets. Bringing together breeders\, handlers and wildlife experts from across Queensland\, the festival features live reptile shows\, interactive displays and a variety of vendors\, making it a great day out for animal lovers and anyone interested in reptile ownership. \nRecreational Wildlife and Pet Fest 2026\nThe Recreational Wildlife and Pet Fest 2026 is set to take over the Ipswich Showgrounds for a two-day celebration of reptiles\, wildlife and family fun. Running on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April\, the event promises an exciting and educational experience for all ages. \nBringing together passionate breeders\, handlers and wildlife experts from across North and South Brisbane\, the festival showcases an incredible lineup of reptiles\, exotic pets\, and unique wildlife displays. Visitors can explore interactive reptile and pet exhibits\, enjoy engaging wildlife talks\, and experience hands-on encounters including popular puppy cuddle sessions\, alongside appearances from cats and dogs. \nA highlight of the weekend is the lineup of special guests and live demonstrations\, featuring Danny Brown\, also known as Gecko Dan\, hosting a book launch and signing\, as well as Scott Carson from Carso’s Critters delivering thrilling venomous snake shows. Reptile catchers\, handlers and rehabilitation groups will also be on hand\, offering insight into their important work and sharing expert knowledge with attendees. \nWith an eclectic mix of vendors offering reptiles\, exotic pets\, wildlife education\, art and specialty products\, the event is perfect for enthusiasts looking to expand their collection or for newcomers curious about reptile ownership. Those planning to purchase a reptile are reminded to have a current Queensland Recreational Wildlife Permit ready\, either printed or saved on their mobile device. \nDesigned as a fun\, family-friendly event\, the festival invites the community to meet the animals\, learn from experts and enjoy a full weekend immersed in the fascinating world of reptiles and wildlife. \nThe Event is proud to support the ‘Companion Card” program. The Companion Card promotes the right of people with a disability\, who require a companion\, to fair ticketing at events and venues in Australia. People with a disability who require a companion to access the event with them must produce their ‘Companion Card’ at time of entry.
