As artificial light increasingly brightens our nights\, the exhibition shows how light pollution affects wildlife\, ecosystems and our long connection to the night. \nVisitors can learn about the science behind our shrinking night skies\, the global Dark Skies movement and the Sunshine Coast’s new Dark Sky Reserve in the hinterland. Interactive displays and local stories encourage people to look up\, switch off and be more aware of the dark. \nIt’s a great reason to make the trip north from Brisbane\, with Landsborough about an hour’s drive up the Bruce Highway. Visitors leave with practical ideas for reducing light pollution and protecting the night sky for future generations. \nEntry is free\, and group bookings are preferred. The exhibition can be viewed during the museum’s opening hours. DESCRIPTION:Miniature Railway Public Day – Nambour\nVisitors can enjoy a ride on the miniature railway in Nambour\, with trains powered by steam\, battery\, and petrol engines traveling nearly 1 km of track through the park.\nTrain rides are available every fourth Sunday of the month. \nVolunteers bring their own miniature locomotives to the track to allow the public to ride on the trains. The Club also owns steam and electric locomotives and many passenger carriages. \nDrinks and a sausage sizzle are available\, making it a great day out for little train enthusiasts.
