SUMMARY:Peter and the Starcatcher
DESCRIPTION:Peter and the Starcatcher\nThe highly anticipated production of the five-time Tony Award-winning play Peter and the Starcatcher arrives in Brisbane in March 2025! The Broadway smash hit begins at QPAC on 14 March for a strictly limited season before it finishes its Australian run. \nPeter and the Starcatcher is the hilarious\, swashbuckling prequel to Peter Pan. Before Neverland\, there was an island. Before Captain Hook\, a pirate. Before Wendy\, her mother Molly. Before Peter\, a nameless boy. \nThe star-studded ensemble cast including Otis Dhanji from blockbuster Aquaman and Netflix hit The Unlisted as Boy / Peter; comedian Pete Helliar\, loved for his screen work on The Project\, Have You Been Paying Attention? and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here\, as Smee; one of Australia’s most recognisable comedy faces\, Colin Lane from duo Lano & Woodley\, as Black Stache; and television star Olivia Deeble\, known for roles on Home and Away\, More Than This and Secret Society of Second Born Royals\, as Molly. \nAlso featuring in the Peter Pan prequel story is Alison Whyte (Death of a Salesman\, The Dressmaker) as Lord Aster; Paul Capsis (La Cage aux Folles\, The Rocky Horror Show) as Slank and Hawking Clam; Ryan González (Moulin Rouge! The Musical\, In The Heights) as Fighting Prawn; Hugh Parker (The Office\, The Family Law) as Captain Scott; Morgan Francis (Boy\, Lost) as Prentiss; John Batchelor (Sea Patrol\, Red Dog) as Alf; Lucy Goleby (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Mrs Bumbrake and Benjin Maza (Othello) as Ted. \nReimagined for Australian audiences by local Brisbane theatremakers Dead Puppet Society\, this highly anticipated version of Peter and the Starcatcher blurs the lines between reality and fantasy\, traversing oceans of mystical mermaids and lands of curious creatures. Originally developed by Disney Theatrical Group and written by renowned stage writer and 4-time Tony Award nominee Rick Elice (Water for Elephants\, Jersey Boys\, The Addams Family)\, with music by Wayne Barker\, this all-new production is directed by Helpmann Award-nominated Australian director and Dead Puppet Society co-founder David Morton (Holding Achilles\, The Wider Earth)\, and features brand new music written by James Dobinson. \nHook your tickets now to Peter and the Starcatcher! \nPeter and the Starcatcher\nWHERE: Playhouse Theatre\, QPAC \nWHEN: 14 March – 6 April 2025 (performance times: Tue 6:30\, Wed 7pm\, Thurs- Sat 7.30pm\, Matinees Wed 1pm\, Sat 2pm\, Sun 1pm & 6:30pm (performance times vary each week)) \nTICKET PRICE: From $59.90 (transaction fees apply).
