SUMMARY:Brisbane Sculpture Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Discover inspiring outdoor artwork at the Brisbane Sculpture Festival starting this August 2026. Held at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens\, this event showcases incredible works from local artists. It offers Brisbane kids and parents a wonderful opportunity to explore a scenic sculpture trail and enjoy hands-on art demonstrations together. \nBrisbane Sculpture Festival 2026\nMt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens will come alive with creativity as the Brisbane Sculpture Festival returns\, turning the gardens into an inspiring outdoor gallery the whole family can enjoy. \nPresented by Sculptors Queensland\, the free event features both indoor and outdoor exhibitions showcasing works by some of Queensland’s most prominent sculptors\, from bold and contemporary to whimsical and thought-provoking. Every piece is available for purchase\, and visitors are encouraged to vote in the People’s Choice award for their favourites. A gold coin donation or raffle ticket purchase is appreciated. \nThe indoor exhibition is held at the Mt Coot-tha Auditorium from 1st to 9th August (open daily 10am to 4pm)\, where visitors can view works up close and speak directly with the sculptors. \nThe outdoor sculpture trail winds through the beautiful botanic gardens from 1st August to 30th October (open daily 10am to 4pm)\, with sculptures of all shapes and sizes tucked among the greenery. \nSculpture demonstrations will be held on selected dates throughout the festival\, and small group tours of the outdoor trail are available by appointment. DESCRIPTION:Placing children at the centre of this engaging interactive experience\, Glow & Tell blends the magic of light and the simplicity of storytelling. \nUsing UV light in a custom-built tent\, the Cremorne Theatre is transformed into a magical performance space where stories and imagined worlds come alive as glowing drawings appear on the walls and floor. \nFollowing the performance\, participants are invited to create and illustrate their own stories in glowing UV light. \nEach Glow & Tell story is created by Patch Theatre artist Edgell Junior Edgell (Ni-Vanuatu) who will share unique stories exploring themes of family and culture. \nRecommended for children aged 4 to 8 years. \nChildren aged under 18 months are free and do not require a ticket. \nNote: \n\nThis performance takes place inside a tent. The space inside is small and moderately dark.\nA relaxed attitude is taken to noise and movement.\nShoes need to be removed before entering the tent.\n\nPlan your visit\nWhen: 29-30 August \nWhere: Cremorne Theatre \nBook tickets

Local Brisbane families can enjoy free entry for kids under 13 in costume\, $50 family tickets\, a costume competition with Cooee the Gumnut Fairy\, face painting\, character meet-and-greets\, and storytime crafts. \nBook Week celebrations at Dreamworld\nThe official 2026 Book Week theme is Symphony of Stories\, celebrating the stories that spark imagination\, creativity and connection\, and Dreamworld is inviting families to bring the fun beyond the page for a special day out. \nKids under 13 who attend in a Book Week costume receive free entry\, with accompanying family members able to join the adventure for just $50 each\, with tickets available for purchase at the front gate. Already dressed up for school? Bring the costume along to Dreamworld and let it shine all over again. \nKids can showcase their favourite storybook characters in the Costume Competition on the Main Street Stage at 1:30pm.
