He also founded Save Sunrise Glossies and has been an untiring advocate for locally threatened species. Spencer has used his passion for nature photography in both these initiatives and is keen to share with other young people\, how they too can use a camera to capture our beautiful and unique environment. \nIn conjunction with the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Ageing Well program\, this workshop will include intergenerational opportunities for young people to share their skills and tech insights with older participants. The veranda will feature artisan markets offering unique handcrafted items\, perfect for a distinctive keepsake. \nThis special event is free to attend and not to be missed. From 11am to 1pm\, visitors can tour the station and explore major firefighting appliances. \nThe community will have the opportunity to meet the local urban and auxiliary fire crews\, learn about the equipment used in emergencies\, and enjoy a complimentary sausage sizzle. \nQFES Acting Inspector Tony Laurie has announced that a brand new firefighting appliance will be on display\, expected to arrive this week. Additionally\, an aerial platform from Hendra Fire Station and an emergency tender from Chermside will be showcased. \nThe event will also feature a kitchen simulator demonstration\, showing how fat and oil fires can ignite and the best actions to take in such emergencies. \nApproximately 16-18 staff members will be available to answer questions and provide valuable information about fire safety.
