DESCRIPTION:Ranger Stacey’s Joey Club\n\n\n\n\n\nFamilies are invited to join Ranger Stacey for a fun and interactive morning of discovery exploring wildlife and learning how to care for the natural environment. \nChildren can bellow like a koala\, stretch their wings like a bird and hop like a kangaroo before enjoying story time with Ranger Stacey. The experience continues with a guided walk along the bush trails\, encouraging little ones to use their senses to uncover the wonders of nature. \nThe program is designed for children aged 0 to 6 years\, and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets are required for both adults and children. Families are encouraged to come prepared with sun safe clothing\, a hat and a water bottle. \nSessions run for one hour each month until November. DESCRIPTION:The Woodford Railway Heritage Train Rides\nSit in open air carriages and let the wind blow through your hair as you ride on a heritage train at the Woodford Railway. Friendly volunteers will greet you on the platform and help you board the train as well as share their are full of local knowledge and their passion for their beloved railway with you.  \nThe 15 minute journey allows you to sit back and breathe in the fresh country air and watch the horses in the paddocks as you drive by (alongside around 300 metres of housing development) \nThere is a small display room on the platform which you can wander around and learn more about the historical trains and carriages. There are also other long-standing carriages and tracks dotted around the grounds which are a reminder of a bygone era. \nTickets for the round-trip train ride can be purchased from the Ticket Office\, situated in the middle of the platform. Cold drinks and a variety of train books and memorabilia are available for purchase from the office. \n\nThe Woodford Railway Heritage Train Rides\nWhen: The Woodford Railway runs Heritage Train rides on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month. Rides starting at 10am and running until 3pm (generally stopping between 12:45 – 1.30pm for lunch). DESCRIPTION:RAAF Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre Sunday Open Days\nShowcasing the incredible history of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)\, the Heritage Centre has displays that include Sabre and Mirage fighter jets\, a flawless WWII Jeep\, Sioux and Iroquois helicopters and a Caribou airlifter. The museum pays particular attention to the history of aviation at the RAAF Amberley base and the RAAF’s role in South East Queensland in war and peace time. \nThe ever-growing historical collection is housed in two aircraft hangars at the RAAF Amberley base and does change from time to time\, as exhibits are restored and brought in or returned after a loan period. \nA group of passionate reservists and volunteers are on hand to guide visitors through the RAAF Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre’s displays\, passing on fascinating stories and a priceless educational experience with every visit. Every single one of these enthusiasts is involved in the research\, restoration and display of the aircraft and the items that make up the collection. \nOne of the best things about the displays at the Heritage Centre is that you can touch almost everything. There’s even the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of an F-111. Photos are always welcome and highly encouraged within the display hangars\, so your Brisbane Kids can capture their aviation adventures when you visit. \nThe RAAF Amberley Heritage Centre is open 9am to 3pm\, Thursdays\, and the usually the third Sunday of every month (excluding December & January). \nEntry requirements:\nAmberley Heritage Centre is located on RAAF Base Amberley. On arrival at the front gate\, visitors will met by one of the Heritage Centre team members. \nVisitors must bring: \n\nCopy of Online Base Induction completion email\nReservation confirmation\nPhotographic identification as recorded on your reservation confirmation (Photos of identification documents are not accepted).\n\nPets\, alcohol and firearms are prohibited on base.
