DESCRIPTION:Meet native animals at the Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre this September 2026. Designed for Brisbane families and kids aged six and over\, this interactive session features hands-on encounters with local wildlife\, offering children a fun way to discover native species\, protect local ecosystems\, and learn about urban conservation. \nMeet Wildlife Neighbours at Boondall Wetlands\nGet up close and discover the feathered\, furry and scaly friends that live in our neighbourhoods. \nBrisbane is Australia’s most biodiverse capital city\, with native wildlife living all around us\, from backyards to local parks and nature reserves. A wildlife expert will lead a hands-on session in nature\, giving visitors the chance to meet some of Brisbane’s most iconic animals and learn what makes them special\, how they live\, and the role they play in local ecosystems. \nLearning more about native species can help people make simple changes\, like planting native vegetation or keeping pets indoors at night\, that protect Brisbane’s wildlife and help it thrive. \nVisitors should arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in at the centre\, and children must be with an adult at all times. As parts of the session may be outdoors\, it’s a good idea to wear a hat\, sun-safe clothing and fully enclosed shoes\, and bring sunscreen and insect repellent. There are no food outlets on site\, so bring water and a snack too. \nSuitable for ages 6 and over. Bookings are required via Eventbrite\, with a maximum of 5 tickets per booking and 1 adult for every 4 children. Everyone attending\, adults and kids\, needs a ticket. DESCRIPTION:Logan Model Engineering Society Miniature Train Rides\n\nLogan Model Engineering Society Miniature Train Rides running days are 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. \n \nTrains run from 10:30am through to around 3:00pm but may close early and conduct staff training if there are no public to ride.\n \nPassengers are required to wear enclosed shoes when riding the trains and follow the instructions of the staff at all times for everyone’s safety. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult (over 18\, they ride for free) and we recommend supervision of all children on the trains.\n \nTickets are available at the track from 10:15am on running days and multi-passes can be used if you still have rides remaining on yours. DESCRIPTION:Miniature Railway Public Day – Nambour\nVisitors can enjoy a ride on the miniature railway in Nambour\, with trains powered by steam\, battery\, and petrol engines traveling nearly 1 km of track through the park.\nTrain rides are available every fourth Sunday of the month. \nVolunteers bring their own miniature locomotives to the track to allow the public to ride on the trains. The Club also owns steam and electric locomotives and many passenger carriages. \nDrinks and a sausage sizzle are available\, making it a great day out for little train enthusiasts.
