The grand opening of Moreton Bay’s newest attraction, a 35-metre Ferris Wheel installed at Woody Point, is happening next week, and we are excited!
Set to rise high from the grounds of Bicentennial Park, the towering ride will allow visitors to see Moreton Bay like they never have before. Offering a thrilling experience for families and sweeping views over the area, below is everything you need to know about this exciting new addition to the Redcliffe coastline.
Moreton Bay’s Skyline Ferris Wheel
Skyline Attractions is well-known for its impressive Ferris Wheels and already owns and operates a number of them around Australia.
You might be familiar with their popular Caloundra wheel, which comes to life each winter. The team is excited to bring this iconic attraction to the City of Moreton Bay with its cool coastal vibe and vibrant events calendar. Woody Point, in particular, is well known for its family-friendly atmosphere (lots of fish and chips by the sea, a fishing jetty and an excellent playground), not to mention its dazzling seaside outlook.
Moreton Bay’s Skyline Ferris Wheel – The Fun
Families will now have another reason to flock to the ever-popular Redcliffe coast, with the new Skyline Attractions Ferris Wheel due to open at the end of May.
Standing 35m in height, the ride will give locals and visitors stunning views across Moreton Bay to Moreton Island, Brisbane City, and the wider Moreton Bay region. The ride’s 24 large, glass gondola carriages can carry up to six people each at a time, and families can buy tickets as individuals or for a gondola of their own.
There is also an accessible gondola for wheelchair access, so everyone can enjoy the experience together.
Operating for a limited time only, the Skyline Attractions Ferris Wheel will officially open on Wednesday, 29th May, and will be a fixture in the Moreton Bay region for five months, closing on the 27th October, 2024. Open daily from 10am to 9pm, families will be able to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views during the day and a skyline of twinkling stars and lights at night.
