A wildlife expert will lead a hands-on session in nature\, giving visitors the chance to meet some of Brisbane’s most iconic animals and learn what makes them special\, how they live\, and the role they play in local ecosystems. \nLearning more about native species can help people make simple changes\, like planting native vegetation or keeping pets indoors at night\, that protect Brisbane’s wildlife and help it thrive. \nVisitors should arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in at the centre\, and children must be with an adult at all times. As parts of the session may be outdoors\, it’s a good idea to wear a hat\, sun-safe clothing and fully enclosed shoes\, and bring sunscreen and insect repellent. There are no food outlets on site\, so bring water and a snack too. \nSuitable for ages 6 and over. Bookings are required via Eventbrite\, with a maximum of 5 tickets per booking and 1 adult for every 4 children. Everyone attending\, adults and kids\, needs a ticket. Perfect for Brisbane families\, this free community day at 7th Brigade Park features interactive emergency vehicles\, live Paw Patrol shows\, face painting\, jumping castles\, and practical storm-season preparation tips for kids and parents. \nBrisbane Emergency Services Expo 2026\nThe Brisbane Emergency Services Expo is a free day of fun and learning. Visitors can meet emergency services workers\, check out emergency vehicles up close\, and pick up simple tips for getting their home and family ready for severe weather. \nNow in its fifth year\, the Expo brings emergency services\, government agencies and community groups together in one place. There will be interactive displays\, hands-on activities and demonstrations\, plus entertainment for the kids including Paw Patrol shows and meet-and-greets\, face painting\, a jumping castle\, and food trucks. \nIt’s also a great chance to learn how to put together an emergency plan and kit ahead of storm season. \nThe event will be held at 7th Brigade Park\, Chermside. Parking is limited\, with spaces available off Reinhold Crescent and on nearby streets\, plus four accessible spots on Delaware Street. Public transport is a good option too. \nFood trucks\, ice cream and a sausage sizzle will be available\, and free water refill stations will be on site. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks (it’s an alcohol-free event)\, along with a picnic blanket for the shade.
