DESCRIPTION:Village of the Damned – Halloween 2024\nDiscover what’s lurking in the old buildings at the rising of another year of Halloween at the Caboolture Historical Village. \nThe spectacular spooky fun starts at 5pm to 9pm on the 31st of October. The first hour will be a scare-free\, allowing little monsters to take part in the fun without feeling too frightened. Come 6pm the village will come alive so beware and take care! \nVisitors of all ages are invited to dress up and join in the festivities\, which include interactive displays\, static displays\, some trick or treating\, scares\, and a mini mystical market for all your enchanting essentials. \nA special feature for this year’s theme\, “Village of the Damned”\, you can join in for a zombie walk through the village\, ending in even more zombie fun with a lively Zombie Rave with DJ Rotting Flesh (AKA: DJ Danny). Leading the walk and providing a zombie dance performance is Jam Performing Arts from Northlakes. \nYou are also invited to cast your vote for your favourite display on the night\, all while supporting local community groups competing with decorated buildings\, and scares for great prizes for their organisation. \nSpecial event entry fees apply\, which is $10 for adults\, $5 for children aged 6-16\, with children 5 and under free. DESCRIPTION:Heritage Day\nHeritage Day celebrates the rich cultural traditions of the past\, focusing on local history and heritage. Watch craftsmen and craftswomen demonstrate traditional skills such as quilting\, Wool spinning\, and blacksmithing to name a few. Discover the beauty of machinery from a bygone era and marvel at vintage cars and motorcycles. \nSome of the featured displays and demonstrations include:\n• Vintage & Veteran Cars\, Motorcycles\n• Luthier (guitar maker)\n• Blacksmithing\n• Clock and Watchmakers\n• Family History groups\n• Small engine machinery\n• Lace Making\, knitting\, felting\, quilting\, preserves and jams.\n• Artisans Guild – Local Art Gallery display\n• Spinners and Weavers\n• Military Displays\n• Vintage Market – Steampunk paraphernalia\, handmade soaps\, old-fashioned candy\, and Fudge. \nLive entertainment from Celtic and classic Australian ballads\, Scottish traditional bagpipes\, 18th-century country dancing\, and fabulous bush poetry readings\, there is something for everyone. Many of our volunteers and guest exhibitors will step out in style in traditional dress adding to the bygone atmosphere. \nThis year kids have the chance to rediscover the charm of traditional games like croquet\, knuckles\, tin can knockdown\, and hopscotch. Offering a nostalgic and enjoyable way to have fun\, these old-fashioned games embrace the simplicity and timeless appeal of making do.
