DESCRIPTION:Newstead House Official Re-opening Event\nEnjoy a day of celebration as Newstead House\, Brisbane’s oldest surviving European residence\, reopens to the public for the first time in three years. \nFestivities will take place on Saturday\, 6 July\, from 10 am to 2 pm with a free\, family fun day. Held at Newstead House and its surroundings\, attendees can enjoy face painting\, captivating tricks from a roving magician\, and a leisurely self-guided tour of the newly restored house. \nAdditionally\, there will be lawn games to play with family and friends\, food trucks offering delectable delights\, and an exciting reptile showcase that will both fascinate and educate. The veranda will feature artisan markets offering unique handcrafted items\, perfect for a distinctive keepsake. \nThis special event is free to attend and not to be missed. Mark your calendars and celebrate the next chapter of Newstead House\, a historic Brisbane icon. We look forward to welcoming you for a day filled with fun\, discovery\, and community spirit. \nEntry to the event is via Newstead Avenue. Street metered parking is available on Newstead Avenue\, Breakfast Creek Road\, and Skyring Terrace. Additional parking options are available at Gasworks Plaza Car Park and Secure Parking on Longland Street. \nFor public transport options\, please visit TransLink. \nNewstead House\, built in 1846\, has recently undergone a $5.5 million renovation funded by the Queensland Government.
