DESCRIPTION:LUMINOUS Festival\nWhat started as a candlelight march in support of refugees and asylum seekers in 2007 has grown to become Queensland’s largest welcoming event at South Bank. \nFor those of you who have walked on the journey to create welcome and belonging for a significant time\, you would be familiar with the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade\, usually celebrated around Queensland Day\, and the MOSAIC Multicultural Festival\, a staple on Brisbane’s event calendar in spring. \nThis year\, LUMINOUS and MOSAIC are combining to create the largest multicultural event in Queensland’s history. \nHosted on Saturday the 3rd of August at South Bank Parklands\, LUMINOUS Festival will kick off Queensland Multicultural Month with a showcase of our growing cultural diversity at Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct. \nLUMINOUS celebrates the cultural diversity of the local community with food and performances from around the world\, culminating in the incredible LUMINOUS Lantern Parade through South Bank Parklands. \nLUMINOUS Festival\nWhen: Saturday 3 August\, 11am – 8pm \nWhere: South Bank Parklands \nCost: Free \nMore information: https://www.multiculturalaustralia.org.au/events/luminous-festival/
