With workshops\, kids’ activities\, market stalls\, and guided tours\, this is one of the Sunshine Coast’s must-attend cultural events of 2026. \nFirst Nations Family Fun Day 2026\nJoin Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Peoples for a vibrant day of culture\, stories\, and hands-on activities for all ages\, held in the stunning grounds of Bankfoot House as part of the Australian Heritage Festival. \nThroughout the day\, visitors can enjoy ochre painting\, bush foods tasting\, cooking demos\, storytelling\, market stalls\, food vans\, and guided tours of the historic Bankfoot House precinct. \nDon’t miss the Corroboree featuring a smoking ceremony\, traditional dance\, and didgeridoo performance.\nThe day’s program includes a Welcome to Country at 10am\, followed by the GATHAA First Nations Markets\, live music\, and spear throwing with TribalLink. DESCRIPTION:Holiday Program: Nature Photography – Sunshine Coast\nCelebrate winter at Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden – by learning how to take amazing nature photographs\, with Spencer Hitchen. \nSpencer started World Stand UP 4 Nature Day in 2023 to inspire people around the world and to showcase all of the amazing people who are standing up for our last wild places. He also founded Save Sunrise Glossies and has been an untiring advocate for locally threatened species. Spencer has used his passion for nature photography in both these initiatives and is keen to share with other young people\, how they too can use a camera to capture our beautiful and unique environment. \nIn conjunction with the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Ageing Well program\, this workshop will include intergenerational opportunities for young people to share their skills and tech insights with older participants.
