QPAC and Tall Stories present a magical musical adaptation of The Snail and The Whale at QPAC’s Cremorne Theatre in January 2017, just in time for the summer school holiday period.
The Snail and The Whale
If you loved the modern classic story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, you must see The Snail and The Whale. Described as an exquisite piece of theatre that will leave you smiling, The Snail and The Whale tells the story of a tiny little snail who wishes to see the world so he jumps on the tail of a humpback whale. Together, the snail and the whale go on an amazing adventure experiencing sharks and penguins, icebergs and volcanoes. But when the whale gets beached, the tiny snail will have to try and save his big friend so they can continue on their journey together. On stage, the story of this amazing adventure is told through through the eyes of an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father.
The show has been created by Tall Stories, who were also responsible for the amazing stage show adaptations of The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, both stories also by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The Snail and The Whale stars a seasoned cast of talented performers who are well known on the Australian theatre and television circuits. Amy Tobias stars as the Snail/Daughter, Tim Hibbard as the Whale/Dada and Catriona Stirling as the Narrator/Musician.
The Snail and The Whale is a heartwarming, magical musical adventure full of songs, audience involvement, laughs and fun that is recommended for children aged 4 years and older. This will be one show you will not want to miss during the Christmas holiday period.
