Join the environment centre staff on a gentle guided walk along the Tulla-yugaipa dhagun track (place of useful plants). This walk will showcase edible plants used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples\, as well as by colonial settlers\, along with some surprising uses. Please note collecting plants is not permitted in this protected conservation reserve. \nAfter the walk\, join a short tasting session where you can try some foods prepared using native plants and find out more about some of the ‘bush food’ native plants suitable for backyards and balconies in Brisbane. \nBoondall Wetlands Environment Centre is a collection point for Brisbane City Council’s Free Native Plants Program. Check your eligibility and requirements online\, and bring along your paid rates notice or written authority from the current financial year to collect 2 free native plants. \nRequirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the environment centre.
