SUMMARY:Brisbane Celtic Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate rich cultural traditions at the Brisbane Celtic Festival at Moorlands Park in Auchenflower this October 2026. Perfect for local Brisbane families\, this free community event features live pipe bands\, traditional dancers\, food\, and fun kids’ activities like junior caber toss races for an unforgettable weekend out with the kids. \nBrisbane Celtic Festival 2026\nHosted by CCAQ\, the Brisbane Celtic Festival is a 100% free celebration of Celtic music\, dance\, culture and community\, set against the backdrop of the Celtic Nations Monument in Moorlands Park\, Auchenflower. The festival celebrates the unique culture of the eight Celtic Nations: Ireland\, Isle of Man\, Scotland\, Wales\, Cornwall\, Brittany\, Asturias\, and Galicia. \nLive music will be a highlight of the day\, with local Celtic bands including Moreton Celtic Fiddle Club\, Australian Celtic Women\, Limerick\, and Ishka taking to the stage. Festival-goers can also enjoy the beautiful harmonies of the Queensland Irish Choir\, the stirring sounds of individual pipers throughout the day\, and the unforgettable spectacle of the Massed Pipe Bands. \nTraditional dance will captivate audiences of all ages\, with performances from Scottish Country Dancers\, Scotia Highland Dancers\, and QIA Irish Dancers showcasing the colour and energy of Celtic traditions. \nThere’s plenty of festival fun to join in on too\, including the Best Celtic Dressed competition\, so everyone is encouraged to embrace the spirit of the day in tartan clothing\, kilts\, or other Celtic attire. Kids will have a blast with a junior kilt and tartan race and a junior caber toss\, plus there’s a big playground at Moorlands Park to keep them entertained throughout the day. \nAs a not-for-profit community event run entirely by volunteers\, organisers strongly recommend arriving by public transport\, since parking is generally not available near Moorlands Park. Auchenflower Train Station is just a two-minute walk from the park\, buses travelling via Coronation Drive (such as routes 444 or 445) stop nearby\, and the CityCat ferry terminal at Regatta is about a ten-minute walk away. \nMark the calendar and bring the whole family for a day of music\, dance\, and cultural discovery at the Brisbane Celtic Festival \nPlan your visit\nWhen: Sunday 11th October 2026\, 9am – 3:30pm \nWhere: Celtic Nations Monument\, Moorlands Park\, Auchenflower 4066 \nMore information here
