Even though the walk is long\, the music\, theming and magic along the way make it an unforgettable magical experience.  \nRight off the bat though it’s important to note this is not a cheap night out. The tickets aren’t cheap and then there’s a minimum of $15 parking on top ($20 if you didn’t pre-pay).  This is for Harry Potter diehard fans- which perhaps we would compare to Bluey’s World? Its not for everyone but for those that it is for- proper COOL!  \nIf you’re working with Muggle money and not a whole vault of gold at Gringott’s\, it might be worthwhile eating before you come to save some of your coins – but maybe budget for a treat or two before or after your walk.  There’s a food truck along the track as well.  \n \nWhen you arrive the parking attendants direct you to a spot\, then it’s a decent walk to the start of the attraction before you even begin.  It’s suggested to arrive 15-30 minutes ahead of your start time and that’s good advice as the car park might take some time to negotiate and the food trucks and village at the start of the walk are worth exploring even if you don’t eat anything.  It’s a delightful vibe with strings of lights and the scent of marshmallows\, open fires and butterbeer in the air.   \nThe trail itself is along an undulating 3 kilometre track – it’s not a difficult walk with clear gravel paths for much of the way but there’s sloped sections and it is night time\, so sensible shoes and some walking stamina are definitely an advantage.   \nThe advice is the trail takes around 45-60 minutes to complete but we found it longer\, possibly due to queues at some of the interactive elements and photo ops.  None of them took too long but a handful of 5-15 minute waits certainly add up on top of the walk time.   \nWe were definitely going at a leisurely pace though\, making the most of the experience and soaking it all in.    \n \nThere are scenes and references to the Harry Potter books and movies as well as Fantastic Beasts along the trail\, with props\, lighting\, sound and other effects immersing visitors into the world.  Our children found the spiders and dementor a bit creepy\, but these areas can be quickly passed and most of the trail is full of the more wondrous creatures and even a favourite character or two can be spotted.  Audio clips from the films play at certain points and add a lot to the atmosphere.   \nWe went as a family of 5 with two Harry Potter fan children\, their parents who are also familiar with the wizarding world\, and Grandma who has read a book or two of Harry Potter\, but wouldn’t consider herself a fan.  We all found the hight tech production to be enthralling and a sensory delight.  If any visitors are sensitive to lights\, sounds or aren’t used to walking for over an hour\, please consider making adjustments.   \nThe village is at the beginning and end of the looped track\, with ample seating and a cozy atmosphere with ambient music and lighting with plenty of food options.  It’s worth going to the port-a-loos here – the kids loved to hear their favourite ghost haunting the toilets\, just as she does in Hogwarts! We even tried a Butterbeer\, which was very sweet and an enjoyable treat after the walk.   \nAll in all\, this was a premium Harry Potter experience (with a price tag to match) – but will make unforgettable enchanting memories for fans and muggles alike.
