DESCRIPTION:Laternenfest 2025\nPlease note the event takes place at a NEW VENUE this year \nThe Brisbane Lantern Festival (Laternenfest)\, a significant event on the Brisbane German cultural calendar\, is back on Saturday\, 7 June 2025. \nLaternenfest 2025 will include Lantern making workshops\, live German music\, a big Raffle\, Entertainment and more. It’s a fantastic family outing including great food like Bratwurst\, Roesti and Glühwein. After the sun has set\, put those newly made lanterns to use with the famous lantern parade (formalities starting at 6 pm). \nLaternenfest is the primary annual fundraiser for the Brisbane German Language School (BGLS)\, a community organisation which prides itself on promoting the culture and language of German-speaking countries (Germany\, Switzerland and Austria). \nNeed to know: Overwhelming demand to attend Laternenfest in previous years has resulted in a sold-out event. Don’t miss out\, secure your tickets now! \nNew venue! For the first time this year\, we are partnering with The Gap State High School.\nThe school is well-served by bus\, the nearest bus stop is Waterworks Road at Gap High School\, Stop 34\, located a 2-minute walk from the school.\nLimited street parking is available\, for access to The Gap State High School via the Q block. Please respect the school’s neighbours by avoiding driveways and observing parking signs. School car parks will not be accessible to the public on the day. \nImportant: Laternenfest is organised by a small community group. We invest significant time and resources to bring this event to life\, relying on ticket sales to keep it viable. We are therefore unable to provide refunds if ticket holders are unable to attend as a result of their own circumstances.
