If you are looking for a show the whole family can enjoy together, then look no further than Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus. Circa, the internationally-renowned creative circus geniuses behind Carnival of the Animals and Circa Zoo, are returning to QPAC in November 2023 with Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus – a modern-day story featuring circus, magic, and musical madness.
About Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus
The thrill of circus, the mayhem of Mozart!
Straight from the score and onto the stage, the man known as Mozart appears amid a storm of powder, tumbling and twirling, as musical mayhem and movement fuse in this family show with a circus twist.
To those who know him, he is Wolfgang, the dart-playing ratbag. To those who are watching and listening, he is the wigged genius Mozart. Come and discover his irrepressible spirit and vibrant compositions through physical comedy and mischievous antics.
Designed to amaze people from the age of three and upwards, Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus reinvents the composer’s magical music in a skilful and illuminating show featuring Circa’s dexterous daredevil artists and a live accordionist. Watch as the notes are physically lifted off the page as performers bring the renowned compositions to life amidst a storm of powder, tumbles and crashes, all under the eccentric swirl of the conductor’s baton.

One of our writers from the Brisbane Kids team saw this fantastic performance with her children when it was playing in January 2020 at QPAC. This is what they had to say –
This show is engaging for children and adults alike, with an enchanting mix of dance, music and circus arts combined in an entertaining and original way.
My 6-year-old was holding her breath for the daring acrobatic tricks and balances and hooting with laughter during the clowning.
The slapstick style interaction between the two performers on stage was a favourite part for her and she found the entire show hilarious. There are thrills, tricks, stunts and a delightful story, all beautifully realised by the 3 talented and charismatic performers on the stage.
Another treat was the performers returning to the stage after the show to interact with the audience- they were happy to shake hands, answer questions from eager young fans and thank the audience for coming along and enjoying the show.
This is a wonderful school holiday offering from Circa, and the convenient QPAC location makes it an excellent option to work into a day out at Southbank – visit the museum, GOMA or QAG for more air-conditioned fun with your Brisbane Kids, or head on over to Streets Beach for an ice cream and a dip.
