Get excited as the holiday favourite, Day Out With Thomas, returns during the Summer 2022/2023 school holidays to the joy of Thomas the Tank Engine fans this year at The Workshop Rail Museum.

Direct from the Island of Sodor, Thomas & Friends return to The Workshops Rail Museum for 26 days of family fun over the school holidays. Day out with Thomas runs from 27 December 2022 – 22 January 2023 and itโs bigger and better than ever!
Meet Thomas the Tank Engine, climb into the driverโs cab and pull the levers! Say hello to Sir Topham Hatt, stop in the Thomas Play Pit for game fun, watch a Thomas movie in the theatrette, have a blast with Thomas crafting activities and check out the Thomas goodies in our onsite shop.
Tickets to the Day out with Thomas event include entry to the museum. Explore 15 larger-than-life exhibits, get up close to locos and vintage carriages, drive a train simulator and spark their curiosity in the Sciencentre.
Join Thomas and All His Friends
Thomas isn’t making the trip to The Workshop Museum by himself. Douglas, Donald, Annie & Clarabel, D199, Trevor the Traction Engine and George the Steamroller will all be there to join in the magical fun. Of course, Sir Topham Hatt will also be there and performing daily shows with songs and storytelling with Thomas. Sir Topham Hatt and Thomas will happily pose for family happy snaps after the show.

A Day Out With Thomas Sensory Friendly Session
The Workshops Rail Museum is excited to present a Day out with Thomas morning session for children with sensory processing difficulties on Wednesday 11 January from 8am – 11am.
Meet Thomas & Sir Topham Hatt, get hands-on in the Thomas Playpit, find Thomas on the huge model railway, and let off some steam in the indoor adventure playground and expansive grounds.
For this very special morning the museum will turn the sound down and create an engaging and fun space that children with sensory processing difficulties can share with their families and carers. There will be a tailored performance by Sir Topham Hatt at 9am.

Things to remember when you visit Day Out With Thomas 2022/2023
Besides purchasing your tickets online before you go, other things to remember on the day is your camera. Pack a picnic and snacks as you will need to spend at least 3 hours at the museum so you can spend time enjoying all the activities on offer, or you could always eat at the cafe.

The Workshop Rail Museum is located at North Street, North Ipswich and is open from 9.30am-4.00pm daily. The Museum is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
