
Civil Aviation and Getting Your Wings Event Day
“Get up Close and Personal with Aviation History”, at the Civil Aviation and Getting Your Wings Event on Saturday 29th June 2024 from 10am – 4pm.
This amazing aviation event, held during the school holidays at the Qld Air Museum will feature:
- Australia’s oldest DC-3
- A rare Beechcraft 2000A Starship
- A walk through of the Fokker Friendship F27 Combi
- The chance to sit in the Piper Aztec & Cessna 402A
- Qld Air Museum guides, many former airline pilots, speaking on how the aircraft are restored
- Flight Training schools where you can learn how to get your pilot’s licence
- South East Qld Gyroplane Club display of gyroplanes plus the chance to talk to the owners/pilots about how these aircraft fly
- The Air League Qld talking about being involved in aviation
- Joy flights on offer from Oceanview Helicopters where you can take advantage of a view of the event from above
- The Qld Air Museum shop open with souvenirs, snack or models available
- 737- 800 Simulator experience (pre-booked on-line, limited vacancies)
- Food vans on site, plus much more
