Sherwood Arboretum Centenary Picnic
Join us to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Sherwood Arboretum – Brisbane’s only Arboretum and one of Brisbane’s 3 botanic gardens. The festivities will commence at 2pm.
Sherwood Arboretum was officially opened on World Forestry Day on 21 March 1925. This heritage-listed site was established for the protection and study of Australian native trees and is a much-loved space for relaxation and enjoying nature. The Arboretum covers an area of 15 hectares and contains more than 1,350 trees, representing about 250 species. Come and celebrate this special occasion with family and friends. Bring a picnic and enjoy the entertainment, play giant lawn games, try your hand at archery and get up close with native wildlife and giant bug displays. Enjoy lots of activities for the kids, learn about the history of the Arboretum, check out vintage cars and join guided walks. There will be live music and entertainment from 2:00pm. So come and join the fun.
