Picnic on Kings @ Sunshine Coast

As part of The Curated Plate Food and Drink Festival, the Kings Beach Amphitheatre will come to life with Picnic on Kings – a fun-filled, family-friendly event celebrating local food, community, and beloved children’s characters.

This vibrant day out features special appearances by Bluey and Bingo, along with a packed schedule of live entertainment, engaging activities, and delicious local fare. With stunning views of Kings Beach and a relaxed picnic atmosphere, families are encouraged to bring a blanket and settle in for a full day of enjoyment.

Stage Show – Ticketed Experience

Families can choose between two sessions, each offering live music, food fun, and a highly anticipated interactive Bluey performance. Tickets must be purchased online in advance and are limited.

Session 1

  • 10.30am – Gates open
  • 11.00am – Keepy Uppy Entertainment
  • 11.30am – 4 Ingredients Pavlova Decorating Competition
  • 12.00pm – Live music with Izzy and Dave
  • 12.30pm – Bluey Live Interactive Experience
  • 1.00pm – Session concludes

Session 2

  • 2.00pm – Gates open
  • 2.00pm – Keepy Uppy Entertainment
  • 2.30pm – 4 Ingredients Pavlova Decorating Competition
  • 3.00pm – Live music with Izzy and Dave
  • 3.30pm – Bluey Live Interactive Experience
  • 4.00pm – Session concludes

Guests will have access to the broader event precinct during their visit and may exit the amphitheatre to purchase food and drinks from the nearby stalls.

Please note that dogs are not permitted within the Kings Beach Amphitheatre.

Free Activation Zone – Open to the Public

Adjacent to the stage area, the Activation Zone offers a day-long, free-to-access experience filled with family activities, creative workshops, and community engagement.

Highlights include:

  • Library Playground and Bluey book giveaway (1,000 books available)
  • Worm farm and composting education
  • Community garden and beehive demonstrations
  • Face painting, lawn games, and a petting zoo
  • Local food and coffee stalls
  • Coastal Caring Clowns and roaming entertainment

No bookings are required for the Activation Zone, and families are welcome to explore at their own pace throughout the day.

Sustainability is encouraged with bike and pram parking available, and Containers for Change will be operating on-site for bottle and can returns.

Picnic on Kings is a flagship event of The Curated Plate’s opening weekend, launching ten days of delicious discovery across the Sunshine Coast. With live performances, interactive fun, and plenty to eat and explore, this event is a must for families looking to make the most of winter on the coast.

Proudly presented by Sunshine Coast Council, with support from the Queensland Government, Tourism & Events Queensland, the Food and Agribusiness Network, and Visit Sunshine Coast – this is one picnic you won’t want to miss!
