The Big Day Out! with Mooloolah River Landcare
A free, family-friendly celebration of community, conservation and connection with nature. This special event invites locals to come together and enjoy a day filled with hands-on environmental experiences and nature-inspired activities, all designed to showcase the important work of Mooloolah River Landcare.
Children can enjoy the dedicated Kid’s Corner, complete with creative nature-based activities and a fun treasure hunt. Families will also find a plant sale, the chance to adopt a stick insect, and enjoy a guided birdwalk or participate in the community tree planting. Visitors are welcome to explore a Biocontrol Tour, join the weaving circle, grab a coffee from the van, and enjoy a classic sausage sizzle by donation.
A highlight of the day is the Program Showcase, which offers an inside look at the organisation’s recent and ongoing projects. Guests will learn more about initiatives such as Girls in the Wild, Trees4Resilience, Walk on the Wildside, Seqwater Addlington Creekcare, and Saving Glossies in the Mooloolah River and Surrounds. It’s a chance to discover how to get involved in future events and workshops and ask questions about the work Mooloolah River Landcare does in the region.
This is a day for nature lovers of all ages to connect, learn and celebrate the environment together.
