Mooloolaba New Year’s Eve

31 December, 2025
Mooloolaba New Year's Eve 2025

Mooloolaba New Year’s Eve 2025

Mooloolaba’s New Year’s Eve is back! Celebrations will look a little different this year due to the Mooloolaba revitalisation project, with construction works along Mooloolaba Esplanade. The 8.30pm and midnight fireworks will be launched from an offshore barge positioned in front of the HMAS Brisbane Lookout.

Spectators will be able to enjoy excellent views from Maroochydore Beach in the north through to Point Cartwright in the south, and Council is encouraging visitors to choose their preferred vantage point. Families can pack a picnic and enjoy the display along the coastline, or book a table at a favourite restaurant or cruise to welcome the new year in style.

Light, family-friendly entertainment and roving performers will be found at the HMAS Brisbane Lookout, Northern Parklands and along Beach Terrace from 5pm until midnight. Food trucks will be stationed at the HMAS Brisbane Lookout, Beach Terrace and Mooloolaba Esplanade, while local traders, cafés and restaurants along the Esplanade will remain open to welcome both locals and visitors.

Everyone is encouraged to plan their travel in advance to help minimise traffic and parking congestion.

Buses
Public transport will be available at a discounted 50-cent fare, with additional services operating every 15 minutes from 6pm to 1.30am. Travellers can plan their journey using the Translink Journey Planner.

Free BikePark Service
A supervised BikePark will be available on Mooloolaba Esplanade, opposite Meta Street, providing a secure place to store bikes, e-bikes, scooters and e-scooters throughout the evening. Register a spot here
