Bluewater Festival

Presented by the Sandgate & Bayside Chamber of Commerce, the renowned Bluewater Festival, hosted at Shorncliffe Pier, promises an unforgettable experience.

Commencing on Thursday, March 28th, from 4-8pm, indulge in a tranquil waterfront afternoon featuring an array of food trucks, live music, and refreshing beverages.

The excitement continues on Friday, March 29th, from 9:30am-8pm, as Moora Park, Shorncliffe, transforms into a hub of entertainment. From live bands to kids’ workshops, exhilarating rides to delectable food and markets, the day crescendos into a captivating beach party culminating with a spectacular fireworks display. Plus, there will be an appearance from the Easter Bunny!

Set against the picturesque Shorncliffe foreshore, the festival coincides with the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race on Friday, offering prime viewing spots for witnessing the race’s start and the thrilling Multihull Yacht race launch from the Pier.

Originating in 1997 under the guidance of Anne Hobbs and her creative team, the Bluewater Festival has blossomed into a premier Good Friday event.

Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race:

The Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe boasts unparalleled waterfront vistas for the commencement of Australia’s second-largest yacht race, the 75th Brisbane to Gladstone. This flagship offshore race, a tradition since 1949, takes place annually over Easter.

The Multihull Yachts set off from Shorncliffe Pier, offering a mesmerizing spectacle with their fire-cannon start and graceful manoeuvres on the water.
