BrisAsia Festival 2026

BrisAsia Festival 2026

BrisAsia Festival returns to Brisbane with a vibrant celebration of Lunar New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse, marking a season of bold energy, confidence and cultural connection. The festival showcases Asian culture, cuisine, art and music across the city with an expanded program featuring new headline events and family-friendly experiences.

This year’s highlights include Southside By Night, an electrifying evening of cars, hip-hop, DJs, street food and entertainment; the inaugural BrisAsia Sk8 Zone; and ON:STAGE, a high-energy K-pop dance showcase and workshops at the Thomas Dixon Centre. Families can enjoy Lunar New Year in the Gardens at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, presented in partnership with ABC Radio Brisbane, offering food, culture and interactive fun.

BrisAsia Dance Battles return to the Queen Street Mall, where dancers compete across hip hop, popping and open-style categories. Sunnybank’s popular Lunar New Year Rooftop Party also returns with fireworks, live entertainment, lion and dragon dances, and activities for kids.

New additions to the program include Lunar Soul Party at the Thomas Dixon Centre, Hyoshi in Counterpoint at the Queensland Multicultural Centre, Velvet Lounge at Mr Vain Restaurant and Bar, and an expanded BrisAsia Comedy lineup featuring improv workshops at Big Fork Theatre.

Most events are free, with some ticketed experiences available. With cultural performances, creative workshops, exhibitions and world-class food, BrisAsia Festival brings Brisbane to life and celebrates the city’s rich diversity.

Join the festivities at Lunar New Year in the Gardens on Sunday 15th February. Bring a picnic blanket and settle in for an afternoon of lion dancers, martial arts displays, live music, traditional dance, Henna face painting, and much more.
