Christmas Lights at Government House
Experience the magic of the holiday season this December 2026 at Christmas Lights at Government House in Paddington. Brisbane families can wander through the glowing gardens of the historic Fernberg Estate to view illuminated displays, enjoy live Bands in Parks performances, and marvel at the grand indoor Christmas tree.

It will be a glorious light show for everyone to enjoy. Head along and see the lights, listen to some festive music and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere created in the gardens. Bands performing across the various nights include the University of Queensland Big Band, Jindalee Jazz Orchestra, Queensland Wind and Brass, and Brisbane Excelsior.
As the Governor of Queensland’s official residence since 1910, Fernberg continues its tradition of drawing thousands each year to experience one of Brisbane’s brightest and most cherished festive displays.
