Christmas Lights Boat Parade @ Mooloolaba
The Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade returns in 2025, bringing a sparkling display of festive lights across the waterways. Boats of every size and shape – from private vessels to commercial operators will take part, transforming the canals into a floating Christmas spectacle.
Spectators are invited to gather with family and friends along the canals, decorate their balconies or canal-front yards, or enjoy the view from popular public vantage points such as Charles Clarke Reserve (River Esplanade), Penny Lane, La Balsa Park in Buddina, or anywhere along the water where the parade route passes. Some local cruise operators will also offer ticketed on-water viewing experiences.
The parade will begin at 7pm, travelling anti-clockwise from Penny Lane, around Mooloolah Island, down the main Kawana canal to Lawries Marina, then back past La Balsa Park and returning to Penny Lane via the Coast Guard station for judging.
This cherished local tradition is for everyone – whether entering a boat or cheering from the shoreline, it’s a magical way to celebrate Christmas on the coast.
