In the wake of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, we’ve seen just how vital our emergency services and volunteers are. From preparedness and response to community clean-up and recovery, these teams have been working around the clock to help our city bounce back.
Meet the hard-working heroes from our emergency services experts and volunteers and learn how we’re recovering from Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Families are invited to get up close with the hardworking heroes, volunteers, and emergency services vehicles dedicated to keeping the community safe. From flashing lights to roaring sirens, this free, action-packed event offers an exciting opportunity to learn more about those who respond in times of crisis.
The day will feature live demonstrations, interactive workshops, and expert advice on emergency response, recovery strategies, and personal preparedness. Children can enjoy hands-on activities, giveaways, and plenty of fun while exploring a range of emergency vehicles. A variety of delicious food trucks will also be on-site.
Local heroes from the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Queensland Ambulance Service, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service, Surf Life Saving Queensland, and community recovery support agencies will be present, ready to share their knowledge and experiences.
