Festival for Commonwealth Friendship at Government House
The inaugural Festival of Commonwealth Friendship at Government House will offer a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and community spirit.
Visitors can enjoy an exciting program of live music and dance performances from across the Commonwealth, from Afro-Caribbean rhythms to Pacific Island dances and more. A diverse selection of traditional dishes and sweet treats will be available, along with a bazaar-style marketplace featuring handmade crafts, jewellery, fashion, and art inspired by Commonwealth nations.
Families will find plenty to enjoy with free face painting and henna tattoos, while cultural seminars and hands-on demonstrations will provide opportunities to learn about diverse traditions, languages, and customs. The festival’s highlight, the Grand Parade, will showcase a spectacular procession of colour, costume, and community pride, celebrating shared heritage.
A free shuttle bus service will operate throughout the day, with pick-up and drop-off points at Milton train station, Milton State School, and Government House. Admission is free, and all are welcome to take part in this colourful community celebration.
