Flood Resilient Kids: Birdie’s Tree Reading & Play

Come along to get ready for the wet season with Birdie and friends!
Families with children aged 5 and under are invited to a Birdie’s Tree reading and play session during the West End Markets.

What is Birdie’s Tree?
Birdie’s Tree are evidenced-based story books that help children aged 5 and under to learn about heavy rain and flood events. They support children to cope with ‘big feelings’ like fear and worry.

Birdie’s Tree stories help young children:
– learn what happens when it rains a lot and causes flooding
– learn who can help in a flood
– work through sad or scary feelings
– understand they will feel safe and happy again.

This event is hosted by community group Resilient Kurilpa and facilitated by the Disaster Recovery Team from Metro South Health.
Morning tea and refreshments provided. Registration is required
