A brand new park has arrived in Morayfield! Stockland has officially opened Glider Park, a $3.5 million community space and the very first park within the new Kinma Valley masterplanned community.
Spanning one hectare, this nature-inspired park is designed for families to play, explore, and connect. The park celebrates the local landscape and Kabi Kabi Country with beautiful natural materials, native plantings, and public art woven with cultural storytelling.
Kids will love the custom-built playground, which features a tall curving tower and slide inspired by the movement of the native sugar glider. Look closely and you’ll find eucalypt-patterned rubber softfall and tree-sap climbing grips. Some even hide tiny “insects” for curious eyes to spot!
Families can relax in shaded BBQ and picnic shelters, shoot hoops on the half basketball court, explore the dry creek bed, or enjoy a game on the kick-about lawn.
To celebrate the opening, Stockland is hosting a free community event on Saturday 22 November, featuring live music, a traditional welcome and dance, family activities, face painting, and a sausage sizzle by Carmichael College.
With more than 30% of Kinma Valley dedicated to green space, Glider Park marks just the beginning of what’s to come for this growing community — and it’s a beautiful new destination for Brisbane families to discover.
