
Heritage Day
Heritage Day celebrates the rich cultural traditions of the past, focusing on local history and heritage. Watch craftsmen and craftswomen demonstrate traditional skills such as quilting, Wool spinning, and blacksmithing to name a few. Discover the beauty of machinery from a bygone era and marvel at vintage cars and motorcycles.
Some of the featured displays and demonstrations include:
• Vintage & Veteran Cars, Motorcycles
• Luthier (guitar maker)
• Blacksmithing
• Clock and Watchmakers
• Family History groups
• Small engine machinery
• Lace Making, knitting, felting, quilting, preserves and jams.
• Artisans Guild – Local Art Gallery display
• Spinners and Weavers
• Military Displays
• Vintage Market – Steampunk paraphernalia, handmade soaps, old-fashioned candy, and Fudge.
Live entertainment from Celtic and classic Australian ballads, Scottish traditional bagpipes, 18th-century country dancing, and fabulous bush poetry readings, there is something for everyone. Many of our volunteers and guest exhibitors will step out in style in traditional dress adding to the bygone atmosphere.
This year kids have the chance to rediscover the charm of traditional games like croquet, knuckles, tin can knockdown, and hopscotch. Offering a nostalgic and enjoyable way to have fun, these old-fashioned games embrace the simplicity and timeless appeal of making do. Kids can get hands-on with interactive activities, making it a fun and educational experience for the whole family.
