Korean Cultural Festival
The Korean Society of Queensland (KSQ) hosts the annual Korean Cultural Festival every mid-August, in honour of Korean Independence Day, which marks the 15th of August 1945. This vibrant celebration has grown into one of Brisbane City’s largest annual multicultural events, drawing people from all walks of life to experience the rich cultural heritage of South Korea.
The Korean Cultural Festival transforms King George Square into a lively hub, filled with the sights, sounds, and tastes of South Korea. The event offers a delightful array of delicious Korean food, live music, and captivating performances that showcase both traditional and contemporary aspects of Korean culture. Attendees can enjoy energetic K-pop dance routines, powerful taekwondo demonstrations, traditional dance performances, and much more.
This festival not only celebrates the spirit of Korean Independence Day but also fosters a sense of community by bringing together diverse audiences to enjoy and appreciate the beauty and diversity of Korean culture.
