Kumbartcho Sanctuary June/July School Holiday Program

30 June - 10 July
Kumbartcho Sanctuary June/July School Holiday Program

Connect with nature these winter school holidays at the Kumbartcho Sanctuary June/July School Holiday Program in Eatons Hill. Running from late June through July 2026, this entirely free eco-adventure invites Brisbane children to pot their own native plants, enjoy nature storytelling, explore a fairy garden, and join guided trail walks.

Kumbartcho Sanctuary June/July School Holiday Program

Kumbartcho Sanctuary – Place of Discovery, has a packed program of free activities planned for the June/July school holidays, with something different on offer every day.

Throughout the holidays, children are invited to join a free Pot Up a Plant activity from 9am till noon, Tuesday to Friday, in the lead up to National Tree Day. Each child can pot up their choice of native plant to take home and create habitat for local wildlife – a wonderful hands-on way to connect kids with nature and conservation.

The daily program runs as follows:

Tuesday 30 June: Wonder Wagon Activities, 9:30am to 11:30am
Wednesday 1 July: Nature Connection Storytelling, 10am to 12pm
Thursday 2 July: Park Tales (great for ages 0–5), sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am
Friday 3 July: Explore Kumbartcho with Agents of Discovery, from 10am
Monday 6 July: Sanctuary closed, but the rainforest paths and picnic area are open – explore and have a picnic!
Tuesday 7 July: All day self-guided Scavenger Hunt
Wednesday 8 July: All day Bark Art for Kids activity
Thursday 9 July: Family Friendly Guided Walk, sessions at 10am and 11am
Friday 10 July: Friday Fairy Fun and Explore the Fairy Garden, all day

Please note that Mondays (29 June and 6 July) the Environmental Centre is closed, though the playground and rainforest paths remain open for exploration.
