Looking for the ultimate family day out this July 2026? Just a short drive from Brisbane, Little Day Out is Ipswich’s premier children’s music and arts festival. Perfect for kids aged eight and under, this eco-conscious event features live music from The Gumboots, creative workshops, face painting, and delicious food trucks.

A SPARK Festival favourite for the young and young at heart, Little Day Out is Ipswich’s signature children’s music and arts festival, packed with fun, creativity and eco-conscious energy.
Presented by Verso Projects in partnership with Ipswich Festivals, the event is bursting with live music, hands-on creative experiences, tasty food trucks and roving entertainment. This year’s headline act is The Gumboots, a three-piece Australian band bringing playful, high-energy songs that get kids and adults dancing together. From building a cardboard box village to grooving at the Jumbo Funk Disco or adding your handprint to the pledge wall, there’s something for everyone.
Little Day Out invites festivalgoers to sing, dance, create and play. Grab your dancing shoes (or gumboots!) and get ready to boogie. Focused on children aged 8 and under, this colourful day of discovery is a celebration of creativity, nature and community.
Tickets are $5 per person (children over 2). Infants 0-2 are free but require a ticket. Children with a purchased ticket receive a bucket hat. Entry times run from 9:00am to 1:00pm, with the event open until 3:00pm.
Please note: Little Day Out is a pet-free and alcohol-free event.

To enhance your Little Day Out experience, the below facilities and services are available onsite:
- Child feed and change room (Ripley Town Centre also has a parent room)
- Tag a Toddler, a service that helps quickly reunite children of all ages and their guardians should they be separated during the event.
- Calm Corner, a specially designed sensory-friendly space to take a break and unwind.
- Auslan interpreted main stage program.
- Water Monster fresh water dispenser to refill drink bottles.
- Portable accessible toilet on site
FOOD & BEVERAGE
A range of family-friendly food and beverage options are available including Tasty East, Ungermann Brothers Ice Cream, Fritz’s Wieners, Mini Pancakes Treats, Juice Power, Roam ‘In Pizza, and The Rich Pour. Cafes, restaurants and takeaway options are also available at Ripley Town Centre.
