Monster Machinery Day

Take your little builders to Broadwater Parklands for the return of Monster Machinery Day this May 2026. This free event lets families explore life-sized diggers, trucks, and emergency vehicles across a massive outdoor space. With live demonstrations, a giant sandpit, and train rides, it is an essential community outing for machinery-loving kids.

Monster Machinery Day 2026

It’s big, it’s loud, it’s free, and it’s back! Monster Machinery Day is returning to Broadwater Parklands for 2026, and the machines are bigger, bolder, and more impressive than ever.

Spreading across a full kilometre of the Broadwater Parklands’ Great and Southern Lawns, the event offers families a rare opportunity to step inside the world of the mighty machines that help transform and maintain the Gold Coast. Little builders, digger dreamers, and machinery enthusiasts of all ages are invited to climb, explore, and get hands-on with the equipment that digs, lifts, hauls, and keeps the city moving.

Free activities on the day include live machinery demonstrations featuring the ever-popular woodchipper, a rock-climbing wall, train rides, and the giant sandpit that never fails to delight the littlest visitors. Families can also head to the Disaster and Emergency Management Pop-Up to meet emergency services volunteers, explore emergency vehicles, and learn what to do during severe weather and disaster events.

A lineup of food trucks will be on hand throughout the day to keep every little explorer fuelled up and ready for more.
Families are encouraged to make use of the G:link tram or HOPO Ferry, or to arrive by walking, riding, scooting, or skating. For those driving, carpooling is recommended to help reduce congestion, and visitors are reminded to park legally on the day.

Get ready for a huge day of hands-on fun where the toys are life-sized!
