New Years Eve @ Mooloolaba
Celebrate the arrival of 2024 at a family-friendly community event on Mooloolaba Esplanade. Running from 5pm to 10pm, this vibrant evening features roving entertainment, face painting, and delicious food trucks, all leading up to a spectacular fireworks display at 8:30pm.
Fireworks Viewing
The fireworks will light up the sky in grand style, visible from Cotton Tree in the north to La Balsa in the south. For those further afield, additional displays will take place at Coolum and Caloundra, also at 8:30pm. Note that there will be no midnight fireworks at Sunshine Coast locations.
Event Guidelines
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, the Mooloolaba celebration is a glass, alcohol, and drug-free event. Queensland Police and security staff will be on hand to manage access and maintain a welcoming environment for families. Pets are not permitted in the event zone.
Getting There
Make travel easy with a range of transport options:
Bike and Scooters: Free BikePark services will be available on River Esplanade and Mooloolaba Esplanade until the event concludes. Don’t forget your helmet and lights for the journey home.
Park and Ride: Free shuttles will run from Chancellor State Secondary College in Sippy Downs to Alexandra Headland from 5pm to 11pm.
Public Transport: Use the Translink Journey Planner to plan your trip.
Taxis and Rideshare: A dedicated Uber drop-off point is located at Alexandra Headland, and the Mooloolaba taxi rank will be operational.
Ferry Service: The Mooloolaba Ferry will run between Kawana Waters and Mooloolaba. Check schedules at mooloolabaferry.com.au
Dining Options:
Whether grabbing a quick bite from food trucks or booking into a local restaurant, there’s something for every appetite. Dining deals are available, or pack a picnic to enjoy by the water.
Additional Information:
Water stations will be available throughout the event, so bring your reusable bottle to stay hydrated.
