Pengari Children’s Festival – Noosa
If one is seeking a unique, wholesome family experience this weekend, the Pengari Children’s Festival on Sunday, 11th August, is the perfect choice. This event is always strikingly beautiful and wonderfully reflects the connected community of Noosa Pengari Steiner School.
In a world high on stimulation and low on quality family engagement, this festival offers a rare opportunity to slow down and share simple pleasures. Little ones will be thoroughly engrossed by the ever-popular gem hunt and the ‘river run’ activity, where children build little nature boats and float them down a beautiful water feature.
For those feeling a bit crafty, there are opportunities to make nature garlands, dip beeswax candles, or create tie-dye garments (all natural dyes are used – attendees can bring their own clothes or use basic items provided). Young children can even ride a pony or make some furry friends.
Older kids will enjoy a giant slide, a low ropes course, and a climbing wall to keep them busy, as well as their own special ‘hangout space’ complete with entertainment from student musicians at the Chai Café.
Adults are also catered for with pre-loved clothing and books, plus local produce for sale. The Treasure House offers amazing handcrafted natural toys and craft supplies. The Pengari Children’s Festival is becoming famous for its wholesome, delicious foods, with people flocking just for the curry from the Curry House and Blue Plum Sushi. Indulging at the Cake House is a must!
Entertainment will be provided by Pengari musicians, young and old, students and staff. There truly is something for everyone.
